Ashtanga Summer Intensive
Saturday, July 26 – Wednesday, July 30, 2025 With Chandana Bhowmick (India, SYC Level II Authorized)& Eskil Schilling (Denmark, SYC Level II Authorized)
Join us for a five-day immersive experience dedicated to deepening your Ashtanga yoga practice—physically, mentally, and spiritually. This intensive will explore the full scope of Ashtanga yoga, from asana and pranayama to meditation and philosophy, along with in-depth training in alignment, technique, and hands-on assisting (Asana ATA).
Mornings are dedicated to refining your personal practice, while afternoons focus on learning to assist, adjust, and understand the mechanics and alignment of each pose in detail.
About the Intensive
Ashtanga Yoga is a dynamic, meditative practice that goes far beyond physical postures. It is a transformative discipline that builds strength, flexibility, and inner stillness through a progressive sequence of poses (asana), breath control (pranayama), and focused awareness.
This intensive aims to offer a deeper understanding of the Ashtanga system—its structure, method, and philosophy. You’ll gain clarity on how to work intelligently with your body, adapt the practice to your needs, and integrate Ashtanga into a holistic yogic lifestyle.
The afternoon Asana ATA sessions will provide practical tools to understand, modify, and assist every posture in the Primary Series, focusing on correct vinyasa, alignment, and the art of hands-on adjustments.

Chandana started her exploration of Yoga in the year 2000.
It was in 2011 that she found her calling - Ashtanga Yoga. One class in a festival in Rishikesh was all it took to convince her to book her tickets for Mysore, to study with her Guruji Shri R Sharath Jois.
She has been studying under his guidance ever since, and received her Level II Authorization in 2016. She now runs her own Mysore program in Barcelona, and regularly travel and teach Mysore rooms and workshops in other Shalas.
She is one of the few teachers in Europe to have completed her Level 3 with Sharath Guruji.

Eskil Schilling
Eskil’s paths of discovery and understanding of yoga started in 1990 with a daily practice of TM meditation. Within a few years, he expanded his spiritual quest with an intense study and practice of pranayama, japa and hatha yoga, as well as an immersion in Indian mysticism and yoga philosophy under the guidance of great spiritual teachers. Since 1995 he has regular travelled to India to study and deepen his knowledge and experience.
He started a dedicated Ashtanga practice in 1999, teaching his first astanga class in 2006 and has been at many extended stays at the SYC Sharath Yoga Center in Mysore (formerly K. Pattabhi Jois Ashtanga Yoga Institute - KPJAYI) in Mysore, India to deepen his understandig of the practice and from whitch he recieved his Level II Authorization by Paramguru Sharath Jois.
Eskil first opened the Astanga Yoga Studio in 2009 with his friend and fellow ashtanga enthusiast Robin Arnold, both of them passionate about sharing the authentic, traditional practice with the Copenhagen community. For well over a decade, he has been holding daily Mysore classes, tirelessly engaged with practitioners to inspire, guide, and assist them their individual journeys.
“I love sharing the practice. I love the independence, clarity and structure, and that anyone can do it, but you have to put in the effort. Ashtanga is an amazing practice that yields tremendous results, but it does require, discipline, dedication, humility, devotion and consistency to really dive into the magic."
