Introduction to Astanga Yoga
Introduction to Astanga Yoga for everyone new to Astanga Yoga and Mysore teaching.
To get started with Astanga Yoga mysore style, we offer the introductory class. Here you will be taught the basic principles of Astanga yoga and will lay the foundation for your future practice.
You learn the basics of the Astanga method; breathing, focus, presence, movements, coordination, form and stability with a focus on individual prerequisites.
The introductory class takes about three hours and is held a few times each month. See the times in the class schedule.
After the introduction class, the next step is for you to continue your practice in the Mysore classes. Therefore, plan the timing of your participation so that you can attend within the next few days after the introduction, within our regular Mysore teaching hours.
Once you have attended the introductory class, you can participate in the regular Mysore classes. The class is therefore the best and most straightforward way to start building a strong and disciplined independent personal yoga practice in our Mysore program.
